Backup my SMS?
« on: February 16, 2011, 01:22:35 PM »
Guys, is there any way to backup my sms in my iPhone? i tried backup the "sms.db" and "sms-legacy.db", but when i restore them on the new iphone firmware, it stuck, it quit/pop out the sms app instantly after i finish typing my meesages, since Whited00r firmware updates quite frequently, please suggest me a way to BACKUP and RESTORE my sms.

P/S: Forget about restore in iTunes, matt say that everytime have to setup as a new device to prevent data corruption.

Well, normally that's what I do to backup, not sure why it's corrupt for you.

I usually don't backup my SMS (sometimes I use DiskAid to put them on my Mac, but not to restore on the device), so I can't really help. Anyway I think that if you want to restore .db you have to set correct permission to this file (don't know what it is the correct one.. you should check it)

I had to restore them from a backup, but I don't advise doing it. It'd be worth it to attempt every other course of action before resorting to a restore.
