(Solved) Error 1015, 16xx iPhone 3G
« on: November 24, 2013, 01:25:58 AM »
Hello. I bought an iPhone from a friend and I saw its version is 3.1.3, and succesfully upgraded it to 4.2.1. But as it keeps crashing and I don't have all the apps I need, I just wanted to go back, then I discovered Whited00r 6 and I was really amazed. Even though, I can't install it. Reasons :
- I can't Shift + Click Restore with iTunes since I get error 1015 (or 1600/1602) every time, even using iReb.
- Whatever Redsn0w version I use, it keeps saying that the 3.1.3 or Whited00r 6 ipsw are not supported or cannot be identified by the current version of Redsn0w
- If I pass the Select IPSW thingy, then I go straight to jailbreaking, I get an USB Connection failed error.
- I saw that I need the 05.xx.xx baseband because it was required so Whited00r can work. Failed, same errors.

Right now, I can't do anything. I'm stuck. I either try to go back to 4.2.1 and continue with the crashes, go to the service with my phone or continue to try to install Whited00r, but I don't really see how I am supposed to do that. Can someone please help me via a video tutorial or more simply via Teamviewer? Because if I get a simple guide, I will pretty much get an error by the second or third step.

About my phone :
iPhone : 3G
Current Firmware : 3.1.3 NOT ACTIVATED (Can't hacktivate it because I get the USB Connection Failed when I try to do it)
Unlockable : Yes, via Ultrasn0w
Jailbroken (before) : Yes
Baseband : 06.15.00 (I am aware I must downgrade it to install Whited00r, but I can't)

I really need some help. I am completely stuck here. Please!

I succesfuly put my device into a DFU state with redsn0w. Just a question to be sure, now I use the Whited00r 6 ipsw using iTunes directly or Redsn0w?

Now, you go into iTunes and while holding the shift key (windows) or command (mac) click restore. A window will pop up for you to select the whited00r file.

Here is a more in-depth tutorial:

If you are using the "Normal" Version this should work great. If you are using the "unlocked version" you may need to downgrade your baseband if you have any errors in iTunes.

It has succesfully installed Whited00r 6 on my device. The only problem is that I can't put a Home wallpaper and iTunes couldn't backup my things but these are only minor problems. I am just glad that I have my Whited00r now. Thank you so much for the help!

If you made a backup before restoring, even if you didn't restore to it, you should be able to grab the information from that backup using iPhone Backup Browser :)  If you can, maybe import them via the iTools method, if not, you can try what is explained here: How to restore lost contacts to your iPhone

Then you can manually restore the information using this method:
[Tutorial] Backup Apps & Data BEFORE Upgrading iOS Firmware WD 6 3.1.3 4.1 4.2.1

Nah, I got the numbers back manually, just asked for them again :D. But this might be helpful in the future, I'll bookmark this. Thanks!
