How to make apps for WD7 iOS 3.1.3?
« on: February 23, 2014, 06:07:11 AM »
Hey! I just want to ask,is it possible to make a custom app and install it on a iphone 3G running WD7? I'm thinking like on android where you can save an app you made as an apk then install it on your device or something like that. And what was the language that is used by the apps. Thanks!

Yes it is very possible to make custom apps for 3.1.3 :)  (entirely from scratch if that's what you mean, not just modify images and transfer them to another device :P )

You would need theos set up somewhere to start programming.

iOS in general uses obj-c to make things, which is really nice, simple and powerful (well, once you learn it ;) ).  Much more efficient than java overall, even on 3.1.3 ;)

You got my point, I want to make an app entirely from scratch. Too bad I was not even good at Java, the only programming language I know is Visual C (I know programming an iOS app is such a dream regarding my programming knowledge) but thanks at least I have information Thanks!

Obj-c is fairly easy to learn, although without xcode for building apps it may be hard to find tutorials for starting off :(

You can always get an old Mac mini off eBay for about 300 or a new one for 500 and then install an old version of Xcode

I will be taking the nooby option when my desktop dies by replacing it with a Mac mini. It's got less than a year by my reckoning...

That is something you can do but that still doesn't help with finding tutorials for programming without Xcode (which is very possible mind you)

I would use theos but I an a noob so the best way for me to learn would be through xcode :P and the superuser Q&A site
I may use hackintosh but my laptop doesn't support it, plus it is super illegal where I am :-\
And it won't work with VM's because my own pc isn't good enough...
But 300 isn't bad for a mac mini off ebay and it was late 2013 as well :o
