iPod touch 2G MC iTunes error 9
« on: April 11, 2014, 09:42:07 AM »
Help !! I am unable to install whited00r on my iPod. It sometimes takes a long time at 'Verifying iPod restore' or shows error 9. When I tried it on my bro's MC, it worked at the first try. But I've tried like 15 times and got it to work only once and that time too had to overcome a volley of bugs that were fixed after ten reboots http://www.whited00r.com/forum/index.php/topic,11242.0.html. But I had to re-restore since I'd ruined it. Now I can't get it to work. Please reply ASAP !!!!!!!

Have you modified your hosts file?
Check in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and see if you have any entries that relate to apple at all.  If so, remove those lines that contain them, save the file, and try again.

I removed the Cydia server address. It installs at the first try on my bro's MC. But mine isn'nt so lucky. I finally managed to get it installed yesterday but am experiencing probs with Cydia. The Cydia tab does'nt show anything even after hitting 'Reload'. Also, It does'nt show package info. I've attached screenshots.

That isn't an issue with Whited00r, but rather with Cydia itself it seems, quite recent too for that matter.
That issue is discussed more in depth here:
Cydia only showing blank pages for packages on WD7 iOS 3.1.3

You might want to check out this thread:

Fix itunes error 9

I'm having a similar issue, I believe the unknown error 9 is essentially the same thing (base band issue).

Good luck.
