Moto G thoughts and opinions
« on: May 21, 2014, 07:28:46 PM »
So the Moto G is a budget smartphone (150 16GB) made by Motorola.
But the budget price in my opinion is worth it.

Specs for nerds:
Processor: CPU   Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7
Ram: 1Gb
Android: Kitkat

Compared to my phone it is a lightning bolt :P

Here is an image

There's even A new one coming out with 4G and expandable memory.

Not enough RAM by far. Even with quad core, it will be slow and have many many pauses in the system. Sometimes even close to that of 3.1.3 devices. Seriously. My nexus 7 (2013 model) sometimes hangs longer than my iPhone 3G does.

I saw something somewhere saying that android Kitkat is lighter than most android os's that are higher than honeycomb... As my phone has 256mb of ram and doesn't really crash though

I think jellybean/ice cream sandwich require at least 512 mb ram, if not 1gb minimum to run because of how much they preload (or whatever that is called).  Could just be on certain kernels though, but I think the system by default is meant to have 1GB minimum.  Could be they changed that as of kitkat though, although I don't know why they would.

Kitkat is okay, not brilliant though.
