The only way is to use a cellular data or I there is a way to get the .deb files you can SSH into the device and install it via ifile...

iPod 2G restored to 4.2.1 and I'm haveing trouble jailbreaking as I now know iTunes is blocking jailbreaks on PS's and apparently not on macs so tommorow I will jailbreak ....  One last thing instead of installing redd00r we should install Archetype as it looks better then redd00r

What do you mean by iTunes is blocking jailbreaks on PS's so we cant use redsn0w to jailbreak ?
And sure we can use Archetype it also has a theaming engine or something like winterboard (have to ask Bruan for more info) but remember once it is installed if we uninstall it THE DEVICE WONT BOOT UP AND IT WILL BE STUCK IN RECOVERY LOOP OF DEATH!!! thats a small bug in the code :)

Hi people ! whats up?
i donīt think itīs necessary re-do a .IPSW of ios 4.2.1. Use the stable and fast firmware of Bl4ckOut, I used it the last year and believe me, it was really good.

A quick question which may not sound to smart:
I know that it's possible to fake the firmwear by changing it manually, (e.x have it say ios 5 in settings while it's actually ios 3)
however installing any apps that require an ios higher then the actual firmwear will crash instantly upon opening.

However, if it's the same ios (faking it to look like 4.2 when it's actually 4.1), would it possibly work?  ???
You see this dog? Yeah, she's my cute dog. (☞゚∀゚)☞

It isnt a stupid question accatually its a good one  :D maybe yes since there is a very little API change and i suppose it would run..
