Error installing %software_name% unable to unzip .ipa
« on: June 27, 2015, 10:36:05 AM »
First of all - thanks for an opportunity to use awesome firmware (whited00r 7.1) on an "ye olde iPhone 2g", and for all of your work. And now to the "Houston, we have a problem" - after installing whited00r, i've configured the phone as a new one via itunes, i've made "full upgrade" (not sure, if it's called that exactly - can't remember) in Cydia, but App Store continues to freak me out with "Error installing %software_name% unable to unzip .ipa" message. Tried safe mode - doesen't seem to work either, i get the same message. Any advice?

I'm assuming you mean upgraded to the latest os. if you're having problems and you dont mind jailbreaking i devices, you can always jailbreak it and use an installer from cydia. If you're still running across problems it may be the .ipa it's self.

Does it happne to other apps also? Try downloading the any other app if the same error error comes back reports it to us maybe our higher modraters can help you out (Bruan or iTechy21).If there is no problem installing other applications......
Delete the app which is gives you the error from the ATM (app store) and try reinstalling it again(or redownloading)then report it here....

Nope, you've got me all wrong. What i meant was only that after clean WD installation, i've accepted "full upgrade" on my first cydia launch. I wish i could refresh to newer os on my iphone 2g)))

Thanks!
ANY app from appstore (i mean WD's appstore - ATM) seems to bug me with that message, when i try to install them. Tried like 60 to 70 of them - they don't even start downloading, and start to sing the same ol' "unable to unzip .ipa"song.
I really hope mr. Bruan could give me an advice.

BTW, any app (downloaded from torrents, for example) and installed via iTunes, works fine (yay, MGS Touch!)
UPDATE: I've used the RTPSM (Russian Tech Problem Solving Method a.k.a. "hit all the buttons in random sequence, and see what happens"), so i've got all the ATM settings turned in "off" position. And i've got a couple of new symptomes:
1. The apps look like they start downloading, but they don't, even the "1" index appears near "downloads", but nothing happens.
2. After i hit the "UICache" button (the button, not the switch), device resprings (not reboots, only the springboard re-launches).
PS: Sorry for my crappy English, i'm trying my best, seriously :D

Thanks, i've already tried all of these, except the ATM Fixer in terminal, but it doesn't seem to work :(
Maybe i should add, that downloads don't even start. After i hit the "Yes" button, when asked if i want to download the app, 1 second passes and i get that cursed message (see the thread name). And, yes - of course i've tried respringing like a hundred times, resets (holding home and power buttons), and i'm sure the problem isn't on the server side - i seriously doubt that, because i'm struggling for three days in a row already.

This may be a server side issue then, if all of you are having troubles with it!
First, turn off "Auto-Delete .ipa" from the settings of the ATM. Then try installing a couple apps. Next, can you check /var/mobile/Downloads on your device using iFile if you have it, and then take a screenshot of the folder contents (don't need all of it if it is a long list, just what you first see should be enough information).  Upload that here and it should give me a bit more information about what is going on.

Well that's not supposed to happen!  Thank you for doing that, I'm guessing that's what is happening on all your devices.  I've notified the App Time Machine team about this.  You shouldn't have to update anything down the line, it should just start working again for you if the fix goes smoothly.   I'm not sure when it will be fixed though, hopefully within a week though.
