Cydia and respring problem
« on: April 01, 2011, 12:49:47 PM »
Hi, I installed whited00r 4.3 full, and I have a problem with Cydia 1.1.1: whenever I install something that requires a respring through Cydia, Cydia begins the respring and never ends! I have to manually do a forced reboot of the iPhone!
It also happens to someone else?!

I haven't experienced this, but it's always wise to try reinstalling some things through cydia if it's presenting a problem.  (at least it worked for me...)

In the 'packages' section, i would go down the list and reinstall things, starting with the most trivial (apps, minor tweaks) and make my way towards the major things.

I doubt that's the best way to do it though... i'd wait till one of the mods puts in their 2cents first...

I have the problem on a freshly pwnage tool FW with like 3 MS addons.. just download respring from the bigboss repo, and when cydia suggests your respring just hit the home button and click the respring app;)

What packages do you have installed?
If you can't fix, try a restore

I get on every now and then to check up
Go ahead and download Whited00r 8 BETA if you haven't yet: http://goo.gl/AFZIUT <------

I have this problem as well on 1st gen ipod. Even after a restore. I can't remember if it is OK before I install a few apps though. I think I install backgrounder pretty quickly after a restore, but it seems more like a bug in cydia to me.

Try manually reinstalling cydia with a deb file
