Real multitasking?
« on: April 26, 2011, 03:49:34 PM »
How possible would it be to create a REAL  multitasking, that keeps albackgrounded apps running, and not paused?

Example: surfing the web and listening to youtube from the background.

I guess that since music.app is set that way, it is possible?

To do that @Alavi.... Play a video wig YouTube, background it... Go to safari (or whatever) bring up multitasking and slide over to music controls. Hit play and thr YouTube audio will start playing.

tnx :D

so... the multitasking HAS the potential to to that, as long as the app supports pause mode.
from what i see (and im not a coder) apps backgrounded, get paused. so the only way to have real multitask (wich i agree is pretty useless) sould be to have an option to unpause the backgrounded app :D

well that's all i needed rly :) tnx

@Alavi

Yes. If you go to http://www.ios3multitasking.blogspot.com you can read under his article that the play/pause/skip, etc buttons only supports native apps (such as ipod, youtube, etc). He SAYS it doesn't support 3rd party apps. But I THINK I remember using it with TV.com

OR did I?

Probably not. He knows what he's talking about.

The backgrounder we use keeps apps running in the background, apples link multitasking is the backgrounding that keeps the app paused, but if you read about it there are multiple backgrounding styles in the iOS API
iPhone 2G 16GB + iPhone 4 32 GB White <Gawernator> iPhones are made with maple syrup in the processor <Gawernator> in Canada <Gawernator> it causes slowdowns
