Crash gpsPhone 6.6.7, solutions?

2013-09-05 PierreP Moderator edit: Please visit the current & updated thread: [Solved] gpSPhone GameBoy Emulator 7.1.3 crash in Whited00r 6 + Redsn0w issues

*****
Original post:

Hi, I have a iPhone 2G with OS 3.1.3. After updating it with Whited00r, gpsPhone starts normally but, once you choose the ROM and the display mode, appear for a few second the keys on a black screen and then returning to the SpringBoard crashes. Solutions?

PS: I installed the bios, I tried various versions of the app but nothing. Before you upgrade to custom firmware, the app was working very well and the ROMs are displayed. I do not understand where is the problem .. whited00r is just a modified version of firmware 3.1.3, then the tweak should be compatible.

However, if someone has an alternative, or knows how to fix it, I would be grateful.

PS: Excuse the English, I am Italian.

Try playing it in safe mode. That should increase the speed of the game and should solve crashes. I'm no sure about though.

So, what should I do to solve the problem?

Could you kindly explain the procedure to correct the problem?

Thanks again.

To receive the redsn0w patches, you just need to run redsnow on your phone, don't choose Install Cydia option or you gonna have some compatibility issues.
For my ally is Backgrounder, and a powerful ally it is.

Sniper is correct. There is a bug in the kernel patch used to create WD. Running redsn0w over the WD install without the Cydia option checked should work fine. Make sure you give the bios and your GBA ROMs 0777 privileges so that in game saves work. R/w/x

Sorry, because I speak another language, I might have misunderstood, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically, from what I understand: I must first restore to 3.1.3 original, then I have to start Redsn0w (any version?) and run the jailbreak procedure, finally I have to restore to WD, right? Or should I run RedSn0w after I restored to WD?

On RedSn0w I load the firmware 3.1.3 original or the custom firmware Whited00r?

Thanks again.

Step 1: Restore to Whited00r V4.4 and setup as a new phone
Step 2: Reboot twice make sure everything is fine
Step 3: Open Redsn0w and run it as usual but make sure you uncheck the option to "install Cydia" and check "already pwned"

Follow the on-screen steps and after redsn0w has run its course you should have a good kernel patch and be able to play GBA ROMs!

If the latest Redsn0w will not work then use Redsn0w 0.9.4 with a stock 3.1.2 IPSW (only if you have issues with the latest)

I solved it by running Redsn0w 0.9.4 on WD 4.4.

Thanks for the support.

Use the configurator script. You should see an app on your iPhone called "terminal", open that app and if you're new to that, it might be a bit confusing. Type "su" and it will ask you for a password, the password is "alpine". Now type "./Configurator", don't forget the capital "C". Now follow the instructions and enable folders and multitasking.
