Why not winterboard?

I don't understand why winterboard on whited00r is frowned down upon. It works for me lag free and Its much more convenient and much better than wintersled. Can we just use winterboard?

you can do it if you want but it will eventually cause lag and battery drainage

Yes, you can use it, but it will mess up folders slightly, and it will slow you down over time, and drain ram, as well as lag animations, and drain battery faster.   Aside from that, go right ahead

I don't really understand why Winterboard doesn't just replace the needed files and then stop running. Is it to support MobileSubstrate, so that if you install an erroneous theme it won't crash into Safe Mode and then continue displaying the theme in Safe Mode, thereby crashing Safe Mode?

It actually doesn't mess with the original images, it overrides the location when the OS asks for the image to display, thus theming it.
Wintersled works by replacing the images.

When you don't use iOS3Wallpaper and that you use a background theme in winterboard, it will mess up your folders when you open them, the fading of the multitasking won't work in any cases.

I use winterboard though, as it supports non-"icons.png" themed icons, but I still use wintersled for theming my folders. Oh, and Brian, does wintersled theme the minimise.png from the AppSwitcher? I'm just asking

I still use the terminal version of WinterSled, that will be my next project for learning, adding that possibility to the terminal version Its just for learning

Yes, I did mean the minimize button And i think I was talking about UIImages, for example like AppStore.png or Preferences.png etc.

Okay, I'm quiet confused now, I might've said something wrong O_O Well anyway, I was talking about the problem that almost no icons are getting themed when Im using a winterboard theme in wintersled. (let's take illumine for example)

Oh!   Yeah, I fixed that in the beta, but don't use that yet   (also make sure the icon name matches the folder name, e.g Settings.png Preferences.app = Preferences.png)
