So I used jailbreakme to jailbreak my iPhone.

When I try to restore to whited00r I get the dreaded 1601 error.

I looked at the suggestions to solve this problem but they all need the iPhone in DFU mode and since my sleep button is broken I cannot put it in DFU.

Is there any other solution that doesn't involve the iPhone in DFU mode?

yeah there was... somethin gto do with a file editing and then restart so that the system puts itself into dfu...I think darlo had to do this once after a folder beta crashed his ipod. he also had a broken sleep button.

He posted how he did this in his folders thread, but I don't know were. When I find it I will post it here

No, not iTunes.

I followed the guide you suggested and when I type “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”
the command prompt shows:
s_Looking for iphone
USBMuxListener : No error.

i think Itunes has to be opened and the iphone should be loading. Then prompt the command for the dfu files.
Afterwards use ireb to get the pwned dfu state.
And then you hopefully will have whited00r installed( you know doing alt+restore etc etc^^)
i think the error means that the dfu files you downloaded...the executable or wahtever can't find your iphone.

Did you try to restore in restoremode? by holding homebutton while püluging the iphone to the computer?
Maybe tinyumbrella can put it into dfu mode then..i don't know..never needed it^^

@coolbreeze: didn't you get the problem or are you always using standard answers?(no offense)
