How to make debs
« on: December 14, 2011, 06:04:06 PM »
Just thought I'd post an easy way to make your work into a .deb file.

1. Create a zip file on your desktop, name it whatever you want.

2. Make a folder on your desktop and name it the directory your files will go into.

For example: if I was making a cydia application the folder would be called Applications because it will go into the /Applications/ directory.

Also if you wanted to add something to a directory like /var/mobile/ you would make a folder called mobile inside the var folder, and put your files in the mobile folder.

3. Drag your files into the correct directory folders, then drag the directory folders into the zip file

4. Now you need to make the control file, what i do for this is just go to http://myrepospace.com/iDeb and follow the steps to make your control file.

5. When you finish it, you can download it and then your done!!!

Meh. I don't like debs for apps because they install into your system partition… which is like ~500 MB…
