tnx for other.artwork nice!!!! can u also change the toggle like ios5 its also in this file???.. http://dribbble.com/system/users/3680/screenshots/216058/ios_5_toggle_switches.png?1311007651

I added the iOS5 png files but they aren't showing up in the Preferences app.  Also, the new mask only appears on apps added after it is updated.  I'm don't know but it seems that iOS stores copies of these png images elsewhere and only updates them when it has to (ie: installing a new app).  Does anybody know how to make it update the images in preferences?  I can't test this until I can make them show up.  Here it is anyways though...

Just so we know: It Doesn't Work

This is meant for Whited00r firmwares that have an iOS4-like wallpaper selection menu added.  The "Wallpaper" link in the main preferences page needs to link to a plist called "Wallpaper.plist" (which is what I provided) which in turns links to the wallpaper preferences bundle.

Try making a WinterBoarf theme and see if the old Icons, etc are updated…

You don't have to keep winterboarf, I thought you could make an experimntal theme for winterboarf just to see if it themed all the app icons…

Does anyone know how Matt compiles the firmwares? I wonder if we compiled this artwork file directly into the FW if it would work properly then?  If it was just built right into v4.4.1 then we could just restore it from a backup right?

Try theming a bunch of times with Wintersled and eventually it should update the cache.

Thanks, but how is that different than just overwriting the file multiple times via ssh?

Does anyone know where this cache file is located?  If so somebody who knows how to make .deb files could make one that adds this file and deletes the cache files so the new files are used.  (I think)

I deleted the cache before and it messed up some of  my icons. Theming is safer.

Themeing a bunch of times with wintersled will do nothing, unless you got a hold of the tutorial one I made for people that only themed icons and didn't restore old icons before themeing :O

All wintersleds that are out restore icons first before each theme ;)

I modified some files in the .artwork and using wintersled to change to a few different themes and it worked. I think that if you theme with wintersled (or maybe winterboard too) a bunch of times it will update the springboard icon cache.

I changed the png's for the toggles to iOS5 ones, recompiled the artwork file, and deleted the cache, and it still doesn't change anything.  Until I can get this to work, its kind of pointless to add more iOS5 images if they won't show up.  Does anyone know of another cache that stores artwork for applications?  I had this same problem trying to theme the keyboard a while back, it just wouldn't update the images.

Maybe i'll just install winterboard so I can work on the images though, do you think we could have Matt compile it into a firmware to see if it would work on a fresh install?

NOTE: in that file I uploaded I only scaled the toggle images to 27px height, they are wider than the originals though, I don't know if they'll get stretched/squished or anything when loaded in preferences.

Clearing the cache only clears the springboard icon cache. I'm not sure if there is a way to delete the settings cache. If it is possible to make a winterboard theme that changes the toggles, you should do that.

Update: Winterboard works to test the images but I highly doubt that it will be possible to do this just by modifying images.  The way iOS3 cuts and crops the images will make it virtually impossible to theme to look like iOS5.  As of right now I cannot think of a way to tweak the iOS5 images to fit this cropping and cutting.

I strongly recommend anybody trying to use the Other.artwork file with the iOS 5 images to delete it and go back to the one I uploaded in the first post.  If the phone ever does decide to refresh the images it will look like crap.
