Hmm... does it actually record? (In WD v4.4.1) it has the video toggle. It just doesn't record.

I already used this mod, and sadly it doesn't work. Well, it works, but the video is in a greenish color, useless for shooting videos.. Trust me, I've looked EVERYWHERE for a mod like and a fully functional MMS mod for 2G, but I've found nothing so far. Closest thing I've found is using the toggle to switch over TO a recording app (Cycorder) but not one that stays in the camera app and allows recording.

Completely agree. I really hope WhiteD00r Developer Preview 4 will contain a photo and video capturing in the native (Or a mock up of the native). That would be groundbreaking for iPhone 2G/iPhone 3G users!

I don't think there will be a 4th preview.
I think were moving towards a final release
I get on every now and then to check up
Go ahead and download Whited00r 8 BETA if you haven't yet: http://goo.gl/AFZIUT <------

I think in future whited00r updates the camera.app should be gone and completely replaced with a modified version of cycorder. use the cycorder way of video recording (ffmpeg) and add a toggle to take still pictures. use the original camera.app gui and make a new camera app all together. the end result, a camera.app identical look alike built off cycorder.
and you would also have to add a photos viewer like the one in camera.app. it would actually access var/Mobile/Media/DCIM where the videos and pictures are stored (moved by bcooperizcools mover script)
it would take alot of work, but would be worth it in the end.

no it wouldnt... theres no camera on the ipod 2g and you cant add one. you could get a camera app on the ipod 2g but theres absolutely no point in it as you wouldnt be able to take pictures.

That's actually for the wifi chip so as not to have interference with the metal casing.   I googled that a while back as I have an old broken iPhone 2g that I found that I scrapped for parts and had a spare camera.
