Change iDevice Name
« on: December 15, 2011, 05:23:51 AM »
Anyone know which file to edit to change the name of your iDevice FROM the device? I know if you go into the device plist in the Springboard.app (/System/Library/CoreServices) you can change the name of the device. But only for the spotlight....

Anyone know how to actually change the name of the device? (To change it in the "About" page in Settings>General>About)

There are 4 folders in that iTunes_Control file.

To change the iDevice name, you edit the M68AP.plist or the N45AP.plist…

That's what I changed... but it only seems to change the device name in the Spotlight... not the actual device name.

I THINK I found it... testing changing the permissions. Cause it doesn't seem to want to save.
