Whited00r v5.1 - Some doubts
« on: January 19, 2012, 02:42:25 AM »
Hello, I'm a newbie in the "whited00r world" and I was reading about the new version (v5.1) and have some questions.

(If I'm posting in the wrong place, or my questions are in a wrong form, sorry...)

I have an iPhone 3G ~ FW 4.2.1 (8C148) ~ BB 05.13.04

1- I have to run the FW 3.1.3 to use whited00r?

   2- Downgrade is possible?

3- If I downgrade and use the IPSW my baseband will change?

4- The IPSW comes with the unlock (ultrasn0w) for this baseband?

5- The push notifications work? And YouTube.app?

6- Are there any "side effects" (something stops working, etc.) when I use whited00r?

Thank you for your attention!

Thank you both for the help. In their experience, it's better use whited00r than the original iOS 4.x? Even with these restrictions and bugs? My iPhone is a bit slow, whited00r really makes it faster?

EDIT: and... WTF is Cydia infinite respring? Have a fix?

No cydia respring loop... just update and its fixed.

Whited00r is made for speed an feature loaded. i would use whited00r over ios4 any day, the appstore is the only big "restriction".

Ok, last question to do this... I have to downgrade (4.2.1 to 3.1.3) for use the IPSW or can I put the IPSW in the 4.2.1?

I still have the respring loop on 5.1 on an ipod touch 1g. Had it on every version of Cydia for as long as I've known. 5.1 is on 1.1.3. That the latest?

Should work on either, I always do it on 4.2.1.
