Redd00r Beta Bug Reports (iPod touch 2G and iPhone 3g)
« Reply #375 on: July 31, 2012, 06:21:07 PM »
Settings app: not sure why

Battery drain + lag: what are your settings, how many substrates do you have?

Manual multitasking: do you hold the home button? What apps won't stay in background, how many are you trying to background

I have been running redd00r for a while now, since it was released.
The bugs and issues that I have noticed:
1) Battery drainage(30 minutes of Plants Vs Zombies - battery is half dead(50%))
2) Settings app is crashing every 3rd or second time, and loads approximately 7-9 seconds.
3) At times, phone app loads from 5 to 7 seconds.
4) Manual Multitasking is not working properly. Most of the times it won't background anything.
5) When you slide the green arrow to pick up the phone, it can take up to 7 seconds for the "end" button to appear. And until it appears, iphone seems to be frozen.

I use iPhone 3g 8gb.

Conclusion:
Thank you for your work. I'm waiting for an update.

Vlad Berezhnoy, Ukraine.
For Multitasking you have too choose " auto " and not " manual.
For Settings you have too :
- Delete Ch40s Utilites
- Reinstall Redd00r and do all again
- After this Settings will run normaly but you will not have OTA and you will not have the possibility to change your settings of Redd00r.
Hope I helped you ! ( Sorry for my English, I'm French )

Or go to Ch40s-Utilities -> Ch40s-Launcher and turn Settings-Run to off.

Sorry for taking so long, had a lot of work to do.
That's what I have:

Multitasking - Manual
Wallpaper - optimized
Cydia autoinstall - off
Spotlight - off (even though it still is able somehow, glitch?)
Push Not. - on
G.sync - off
Obliteration - off
Sim import - off
VPN - off
Tethering - off
Mobile me - off
Transparency - off
Check for updates - off.

Brightness if usually 20 - 25 percent, depends on what I can see on the screen under the sunlight.

If I do this "Ch40s-Utilities -> Ch40s-Launcher and turn Settings-Run to off."
Any chances to turn it "on" later to use OTA?

Oh, yeah, you can turn it on later to use ota, or, if you installed red00r while on the latest Ch40s-Utilities, you can go to Ch40s-Utilities -> OTA -> Redd00r and tap check for updates :)

I think CH40s utilities run in the backbround all the time through the bash processes if u made CH40s utilities on demand redd00r could see a pretty nice speed boost. :)
Think Different
Zen is the way

No it doesn't  Every app that uses it needs to tell Ch40s-Launcher to start.  And if you go into Ch40s-Utilities -> Ch40s-Launcher, you can choose the amount of times it will loop through the programs, and then the sleep time between those loops. After it reaches the amount of times specified to loop, it shuts down.   The daemon doesn't even run all the time checking for a file any more with the latest version. The daemon is started and stopped every time :)  it isn't always running :)

I've been using redd00r since it came out, and I'm pretty impressed considering it is a beta! Great job by the developers ;) some issues I have experienced since then:
1. The screen flickers when some apps are loading, such as facebook, eurosport, sometimes resulting in the app crashing.
2. There are lines in some areas, such as send in messaging, but these appear to be minor bugs at the moment.
3. This may be obvious, the less amount of apps you have, the faster your device will be, such as loading apps and safari.
4. Hard reset the idevice 3 times in the morning or when the device is fully charged, this usually helps somehow.
Otherwise, everything is great!  :D
