first excuse my English (google translator). From what I understand, the basis for red00r ios ios is a 4.1, if your parts from ios ios 4.2.1 first install the original 4.1 jailbreak Apple and let him restore the ios red00r basis for you at the beginning of this post. Deveria to function well.
Damn Google translate sucks xD
I didn't understand what you said....

a See if you understand me now.
Red00r base (IOS 4.1)
if you have an IOS on your iphone 4.2.1 or 3.1.3 IOS
1 - install on your iphone the original IOS 4.1
2 - Jailbreak
3 - Restore the Redd00r Base Firmware (http://adf.ly/A2nSS)
I think it should work

Oh... You don't have to do that at all. Just use iReb and get into Pwned DFU mode. From there you can do the Shift+Restore in iTunes and it should work. Works for me :D

I take it it's this IOS4.1 Redd00r base you have installed.

You will need to add applepie's repo http://applepie.bplaced.net/repo to Cydia, then try again to install whatever it is your installing and it should automatically install the Mobile Substrate added to his repo for this specific firmware.

I added this base again to my iphone today and the mobile substrate is working.

Redd00r is a .deb file that can be installed onto either 4.1 or 4.2.1

Soltmeal has released this 4.1 base due to the speeds of the 4.1 and has less lag on the native wallpaper and that it has been configured  ready for the Redd00r .deb file to be installed directly on too when it is released through appliepie's repo.

Wasn't there an md5 sum you could have verified before flashing this cfw? I have a hard time believing it bricked an iPhone for only one person unless something got corrupted (like iboot?). Just try restoring to official. Or use ireb to kick the device out of recovery.
