iPod Touch 2G MB series Pwned DFU Error
« on: September 13, 2012, 03:49:40 AM »
I have a 2G iPod touch (MB series), and every time I try to enter Pwned DFU mode to install the whited00r ISPW, after about 8 secs of holding down the home button (final step to entering DFU mode) redsn0w stops and just shows "Internal Error" I have tried this on both Windows 7 and OSX Lion. I end up exiting out and rebooting every time. iTunes will not (obviously) just restore without Pwned DFU mode, in or out of regular DFU mode. I have tried to "Just boot tethered, and it gets past the enter DFU mode screen, but stops on "Finding DFU Device"- i've waited 10+ mins and nothing happened. Included is a screenshot of the error I keep getting. I have looked on other forums and this problem is everywhere, but no one has an answer, besides putting it in the freezer. Help!

Do you have physical access to the computer?

Lol, yes I do, but the bootloader & BIOS and such are pretty locked down- you have something evil in mind?

http://www.piotrbania.com/all/kon-boot/ - Download and boot. Then try to login as admin.

I don't know if holding f8 allows you to go into recovery mode or not... Maybe not in windows 7. I know in do it did. But, xdragonforce's suggestion should work, or if you want to find out the password provided it isn't too long ;)

This is my personal favorite: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/
Works every time :D Only bad thing is it removes the password entirely, not tell you it or bypass it. I also tried Kon-Boot, but it only worked on the newer computers in our school (HP Elitebooks). The second best is Microsoft DART, which comes preloaded on FalconFour's Boot CD.
I these in middle school to help teachers and fix computers because our IT "pros" sucked. I also used it for my own purposes as well...
