iOS 4.3
« on: December 11, 2012, 09:16:04 PM »
Hello!

I googled this article: http://g3mag.com/featured/how-to-install-ios-4-3-on-iphone-3g-iphone-2g-ipod-touch-2g-and-ipod-touch-1g/

but after instalation my iPhone 3G is on iOS 3.1.3...

so its really imposiible to install iOS 4.3 to older devices, and article above is FAKE?

The iPhone 3g is incapable of running iOS4.3...  or anything higher than 4.2.1  The article failed to mention we just provide the look and feel of iOS6 (or iOS4.3, as that is an old article).  We cannot enable your device to run iOS4.3.   Whited00r is based on 3.1.3, and always will be. We just have tweaks and some modifications to make it look and feel like iOS6 (folders, multitasking, homescreen wallpaper).

I'm glad I upgraded IMO from IOS 4.2.1 stock unlocked & jailbroken to Whited00r IOS 3.1.3 based: my iPhone 3G is more fluid, faster and w/ much more available RAM so I really don't care about loosing a few non-essential apps/games that requires 4.0.1 and up.

Some useful tips after installing Whited00r: http://www.whited00r.com/post-installation.php

Go here if you want to jailbreak IOS 4.2.1: http://www.iclarified.com/jailbreak/index.php

Or here if you want to Carrier Unlock the iPhone 3G: http://www.whited00r.com/tutorial-unlock3g.php
_______________

Hardware limitations* For example: why does the iPhone 3GS can run IOS 4.3 and up (including apps that requires 4.3 and up) and the iPhone 3G cannot? The 3GS has a significantly faster processor (600 MHz up from 412 MHz, with a dramatically improved graphics processor as well: graphics capability OpenGL ES 2.0 vs. OpenGL ES 1.1) and twice the RAM (free memory to run programs 256 MB up from 128 MB).

You don't need Cydia to download those apps. See Re: Dropbox + Many Other Apps & Games http://www.whited00r.com/forum/index.php?topic=6815.msg67120#msg67120 and 3store after 12.12.12: http://www.whited00r.com/3store.html

iPhone explorers instead of iTunes to install programs and copy deb files and much more: I use the free, small, awesome, intuitive but yet powerful and ad free iTools (works on Windows or Mac and it's a Standalone - meaning no installation needed and it's portable so if you carry a Mac (5.71 MB, English only @ the present) and a Windows (2.74 MB, English, French & Russian U.I. @ the present) version on the device's Mass Storage or on a USB stick so you can use it on any computer while on the road w/o installing anything on it!): http://itools.hk/cms/webpage30.htm

I also use the free iFunbox sometimes but iTools most of the time as it loads much faster w/o ads and the U.I. is much simpler & cleaner.

I was wondering about that too. I use iFunBox. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between iFunBox and iTools? I might check it out, but I don't think it has an app installer. Correct me if I am wrong.

EDIT: I just checked out iTools. My iDevice isn't with me right now, so I can't really judge it, but it seems okay. I don't know the feature differences yet.

Are you talking about iTools or some other links in my post above? It's a free standalone program w/o ads, their website is based in Hong Kong (.hk) and I live in Central America (check my I.P.) and I posted a direct link to their site and not via an URL shortner that pays for clicks... so where is the ad?  :o I just find iTools incredibly fast & easy to use so after searching the Whited00r site and not finding any posts about it I just thought the info would be helpful to some users.

Cool, although I am used to iFunbox, so I will use that. iTools seems cool though. Listen to what Finkmac said though. :D Although I don't see any problem with you spreading iTools to new user as a recommendation. I think it would be okay if you made a thread in "Spambucket" about iTools though to explain it. :D

The point is that all your posts about iTools look like someone spamming advertising…

It maybe looks like spam to you but it's not as even their site is ad free and super clean minimal like their app & I don't make a penny for talking about it. In fact I wonder how the heck they make a living? Maybe it's a showpiece of their savoir-faire? Or they really hate iTunes?  8)

There are many other things using the itools name BTW (books, real tool shop, etc): https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=itools  ;) But I guess Apple is too busy suing Samsung @ the present.

From Wikipedia here:

iTools or ITools may refer to:

Any feedback from people that have tried it besides tartilc (tx BTW)? Did you try it?
_________
P.S. I would really appreciate a PM instead of a discussion through a thread if there are any problems with my posts so I could correct it as I'm new around here and learning as I go, just like for Whited00r.
