Hi, i recently saw the whited00r custom firmware for iPod touch 2g. But sadly i wasn't compatible due to me having a MC model.

Then i saw redd00r, i right away installed it then i tried to find the App time machine but it wasn't there.  :'(

So. when will it be out. or will it ever be out?

Thanks.

This will definitely be taken into consideration :) as-is though, the  App Time Machine is for 3.1.3 compatible apps  :/

Welcome to the Whited00r forum!  8)

....

Sorry, it is not possible to install App Time Machine without installing Whited00r 6. If it would be accessible to all the general public, their server would be quickly overwhelmed and would crash promptly.

See the FAQ - App Time Machine

Sorry that you cannot install Whited00r 6 on your iPod Touch 2G MC or PC (Apple's code for an engraved MC) models. The reason is that Apple used a different bootrom in that one (for no good reasons IMO) and it is not compatible with Whited00r's custom iOS firmware.

As an alternative, try these tricks and you can change the filters with iOS 4.0, 4.01, 4.02, 4.1 & 4.2.1 (if that is what you have installed on your iPod Touch 2G): [Tutorial] WhiteD00r 6 How-To Find iOS 3.1.3 Compatible Apps - iTunes iOS Filter 3.x

BTW you could try bcooperizcool's Archetype mod instead of the current buggy Redd00r Beta. I heard good things about Brian's work but I do not have an iPod Touch 2G MC or PC model to test it. Just click on the image in his signature.

...App Time Machine is for 3.1.3 compatible apps  :/

Yes, that is the criteria: an app must work on iOS 3.1.3 or Whited00r to be included in App Time Machine and also must be free or cracked and must be tested first on a device running WD 6. It is a lot of unpaid work for this mysterious secret unknown ATM team. BTW thanks guys!  8)

This said, those free apps work on any iOS 3.1.3 and up.  ;)

Thanks.

I will try out Brian's firmware.

Is there anyway to CHANGE the bootrom? or is it impossible?

I'm pretty sure that is impossible :(

+1.  :-\

Or eBay it & get a normal iPod Touch 2G instead of a MC or PC model. ;)

Or maybe you will be happy with Brian's tweaks?

By clicking on the Archetype image in bcooperizcool's signature above.  ;)

Or by visiting his Whited00r forum profile by clicking on his name or avatar.

Even with Archetype you won't have access to the App Time Machine, or be able to install apps that require a higher iOS version :/

What?  :o

I does not magically transform old iPhone & iPod's GPU and ARMv6 CPU into ARMv7 found in iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3G or newer that are required to be able to run iOS 4.3+ and apps that requires it?  ;)

More info about why here: Whited00r 6 - FAQ & Troubleshooting - READ BEFORE POSTING!

thanks i just thought maybe ther was some atm alternative with your fw, but i still like to check it out. whited00r was so awesome i was hyped for redd00r then it released. great clever fw but you know i slowly stopped using my old phones. everytime i downgrade i lose service, well the last time i tried. im assuming because i need ipad bb? didnt want to but if thats what it takes for this thing to be cool again
