In theory, wouldn't wintersled still have the potential to cause some slow-down because if icons/image files/UI the phone has to load are a larger size than the original, the phone would have more RAM used up by these images in cache? :O

The images are like super small. It could but it would make it .000001 seconds slower if at all. :D It is better then winterboard though which turns your super fast iphone into a 400 pound burger eating monster   Sorry if anyone gets offended by that xD

Well winterboard uses like 4-9+ MB of RAM depending on the themes.  The only upside to Winterboard is that it makes theming the Other.artwork file feasibly possible.  The only other way is with iPhone Shop but the last development for that was 3.0 so it doesn't include all 3.1.3 UI files and even when you try to remake the new artwork half of the images look screwed up and the transparency is thrown to the dogs. lol.  Yes, Winterboard destroys your iPhone speed!  On a 3GS, i'm not so sure though?

It only is bad on the 2G and 3G because they only have 128 Mb ram and half is already used up by the OS so your left with 60Mb lets say with all your addons installed. Subtract 5 thats 55, and when you open an app it sucks the rest up basically. How do you run NHL11 on 55Mb ram :( or any intensive app. 5MB is a lot on the iphone. not on the 3GS or 4 though :D

Yea, but what's worse than the 5 MB of RAM is also the processor has to work harder to keep Winterboard running :(  I even have wallpaper disabled lol.  Too bad Matt didn't make sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency a writable command, then we could try overclocking!

I somehow have the Cydia Activator and my Firmware still runs great.  What exactly is the WD sbsettings though?  Just toggles?
