Redd00r Mobile Substrate Issue
« on: March 31, 2013, 05:23:46 PM »
Hello. I've been trying to work on this problem for a few hours, and it's gotten me quite frustrated.

I have looked at previous topics on how to fix my issue, and have followed the steps, but it still doesn't work.

I install Mobile Substrate through Saurik in Cydia, then I downloaded the Applepie Repo, but it still doesn't let me install Redd00r.

I noticed that after I install Mobile Substrate, then the Applepie Repo, Mobile Substrate is no longer visible in Cydia/Telesphoreo (Saurik). Once I remove Applepie Repo, it becomes visible again.

Can anyone help me with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am on an iPod Touch 2G (4.2.1)

welcome to the forums :)

Redd00r is very buggy in it's current state, and really has no support as of yet (due to it being in a state of limbo in development).  It is being worked on for an update, but there is no release date for that yet.

You could try out Archetype -- Custom firmware package for every iOS  as it is in active development and is way more stable in it's current state (although it may crash during install, the fix for that will be in the next update.  In the mean time  just open up cydia right away if it does crash and leave it alone for a couple minutes).

As for the mobile substrate issue, that is due to applepie having mobile substrate in his repo for some reason :/
As I said, I don't really know much about the redd00r stuff (even though I helped make it D:  ), aside from knowing in it's current state it isn't really stable :/

I do highly recommend Archetype as it has all the features of the current redd00r and more, as well as being faster and more stable (again with frequent updates once I get my laptop up and running again ;)   ).

I gave up on Redd00r and went back to 3.1.3.
Running Archetype and it is way more stable than Redd00r and offers more features and customization.
- iPod touch 2G Mc
- iPad 2 wifi
- HTC One M8

That is pretty true. for now...
Because Redd00r hasn't been updated for like 1 whole year. HOW FAST DOES TIME GO! WOW.
Let's hope the Devs get not-so-busy xD

I'm just waiting for the Archetype update to put on my iPod Touch 5G :D
Oh yes. Hi.
I see you've noticed this Signature. Well, all I can tell you is that there's nothing to see here.
Yes, there is nothing interesting here. Just keep scrolling and we'll pretend nothing happened.
