Try installing again. Did you even reboot your phone? And no, MMS won't slow you down. Just drains battery life
I tried installing again and yes rebooted every time, and so far no go
You might need a carrier pack to get it to work.  If you are on T-mobile USA like me there is a package that you have to get for all of it to work.  You can get it afterwards, rebooting won't fix that though.
I am on T-Mobile which one did you get?
Cool, what are the chances?
Add the repo http:cydia.pushfix.info/
Under the repo you would find this thing called T-mobile US MMS Fix
The description would say that it is for iOS4 but it will work just fine.  All you have to do after installing this is to set your apn to wap.voicestream.com
After this is installed you should have MMS working.  This is the ipcc carrier thing I think i read about somewhere, or at least i think it is.  After you get it installed mms should work.
It is still not working so I'll just need to wait. Thanks for everyone's help

When you are on the home page you will see a tab that says downloads. There is a lite and full version for iPhone 2g I'm sure you'd want the full.

Just installed it on my 2G, and by far this is the best firmware i ever had. its fast, its smooth and works like a charm!

Only thing i'm missing is the wi-fi toggle and the push docter. but does wi=fi toggle drains my battery?

Alright thanks mate.

Cydia crashed during the process so it was my cydia was messed up.
But i dindt had any terminal installed yet.

What i did is open PuTTy, run the command "su" "dpkg --configure -a" and it worked again. installed push docter and it works :)

I synced with itunes for my apps/movies/music etc, and its still working great and fast.

So thumps up for this 4.2 full  ;)

Hi,
I can't download the full version 4.2 (iPhone 2G/WD Unlocked/With MMS/Full 4.2). When i press this, it starts from beginning. The version without MMS it's downloaded normally with no problem.

Thanks,
Finally

So I have an unlocked iPhone 3G. Wifi doesn't work for some odd reason..so I don't want to lose my unlock and then have no phone to work with. Will the WD 4.2 come with ultraslow so I don't have to do all the nonsense after a restore..mayb the carrier setup tho

By nonsense do you mean install ultrasn0w?  You are going to need to do that no matter what.  It's not a big deal.

Ok the first thing Ive seen in this firmware is that is fast yep, even with icon shadows it is still fast enough and i have an ipod touch 1g with wd 4.2 full.
But, randomly folders keeps spiting out all of its icons leaving them out, id like to know the actual limit that a folder can have as icon contents how many can a folder have inside.
And how many folders can be there in the springboard.
Other thing is multitasking, looks a little better but in 4.1 the ifile issue wasnt there and now it is have to respring to make it go away.
Also not using activator makes thinks a lil more harder than before pushing buttons around all day is not a good idea, they tend to break with use :P.
Is there at least an app or button that activates the wifi that will be the only thing i need working like before.
All and all the 4.2 is really good i think previous folders was better but it is just my idea, the elimination of activator is a performance advance but a kick there for comfort .
Great work guys hope to see something like wifi toggle in any way in the future and off course i hate to see folders disappearing o just spiting there contents out :P.

You can toggle WiFi in settings.app :P the ifile bug has always existed. You can exit it by holding down home button :)

At least on the iPhone, it remembers your sound settings for speakers and headphones.  So when I plug in my headphones it drops to like 40%, and when I go to speakers it's 100%
