I think you should try to restore the firmware again to your iPhone 2g.  This would probably be the best thing to do when you encounter a problem like this.  Remember to set up as new iPhone then sync your apps and stuff.  Don't restore from backup as this would cause weird problems, probably like the problems that you encountered.  If you did not restore from backup my suggestion would be to restore the firmware again or it might be a bug with the passcodes.

Sorry, can you please clarify what you mean by you lost everything? Did you lose everything you have in Cydia or just everything on the phone? In that case you'll just have to restore again and I haven't encountered or heard of such a problem from Cydia as yet.  I'm not really sure what the best course of action to avoid this problem is.
I'll think about it and can you give a little more details?

dear friend, you do not know what is cydia "Database Error"?
after the frist time i go to my cydia, and cydia update database. I lost everything on my cydia
I mean the package on the FW are installed but cydia do not show anything, any sources & cannot add any source or install package &... &... &...
there is nothing on the Cydia to add or install!!!
I restore my iPHONE again but I have this problem again with Cydia...!

Honestly I've never heard of the Cydia database error before.  I do remember that happening to me yesterday when I was looking for PDA Net. There were no sources, no packages, I couldn't find anything when I searched for it. I might have that error now but I haven't had it before I'll check soon if Cydia is running.

Oh man, you didn't have to restore.  I believe the problem is fixed now but all you had to do was delete the source list for Whited00r (Philcamlin put a corrupt package on the repo) This type of error is pretty common with Cydia, when you half install a package, or a corrupt source or package

My Cydia doesn't work anyway. Jus' with the first time, the first time Cydia going to updating database, after reloading data, I lost everything, I do nothing, no installing no addin, no ...
What is the Cydia version? Maybe that is the problem, huh?

i have iphone 2g v4.2 lite, everytime i respring, my dock disapears. I restored 4 times already and whenever i respring my dock goes away. anyone know how to solve this?

I had not enough time to read the topic but, I found another way to fix the problem. After restoring, I install Cydia 1.0.3044 version on my iPHONE 2G with PC Suit, and the problem fixed!

V4.2 is pretty stable so I don't see a new version in the near future, but who knows.

I have a small problem with this version,every time i enter cydia,and i press the home button,it exits cydia,but when i double tap the home button,it shows me in background,like native multitasking the app.
Everything normal so far,but when i try to close cydia,and the "minus" sign appears in top left corner,i press it,cydia dissapears,but when i double tap again the home button,it's there again/.
Anyone had this problem?
