Folders development

Informations

- a great Mobile Substrate to emulate native folders with great performances on 3.x
- not releasing a beta
- the tweak could be released for free only if Darlo will get enough money by donations, otherwise it will be sold in Cydia Store.
- when the tweak is stable and working will start a donation plan to gather money.
- whited00r users are more then 5000. Our support is needed, so don't forget to donate when the tweak is ready!

Update:

I've had success with Drag and Drop, so i'm now going for a drop and drop approach.

Also, i've managed to add new folders to the SpringBoard at runtime.

I just want to make this clear..

I don't know how far i'll get with this folders project.
I didn't really start it with the intention/thought that i would release it for Whited00r.
It's just really to see how far i can get/ if i can do it.
I don't know when/if i'll release.
If i do release it, it's probably going to be a paid extension on Cydia store
I've spent weeks on this so far, and it's made me almost want to tear my hair out. So releasing it free would be stupid, i'm sorry.

State so far:

Drag and drop apps onto another app to create a new folder.
Folders open with SpringBoard 'slicing' effects upon opening/closing.

VERY rough, not even a beta yet  ;)

Ok.. well not as rough as that just made it sound ^

So far you can drag an app over another app to create a folder with a the same 'expanding glowing folder' animation that's in iOS4. Looks good.

Folders open/close with cool SpringBoard 'slicing' effects.

At the moment i'm working on ways of hiding apps WITHOUT LibHide.

Here's some early screenshots:

Ignore, the gear icon inside the folder, and the status bar (will slide up with the SB eventually)
Also ignore the lack of icon shadows/correct dock label positioning. I'm just running the bare minimum substrates while testing my Folders.

AHHHHH - Am I believing my eyes!

Is that running on 3.1.3!!!!

That is really  really nice - I would pay for that indeed!  :) -I just don't like the idea of paying through cydia. Do you have any alternatives like making a paid download firmware or something?

Will you be able to change the text? (i.e Utilities)

THAT IS AWESOME!

I love it so much

(Using a temporary account because i got locked out my other one- waiting for Matt to either reset my password/free-up my old account)

Hmm.. I haven't really decided how much i might sell it for. Nothing too steep, maybe 3/4 after all.. this is folders.. for iOS3  :o

But then i've got to think about piracy, i'd have to to use some strong piracy protection otherwise it would be cracked and on the SinFuliPhone repo the next day  :(  And i'm not prepared to let that happen considering the amount of time i have/will put into this.

Yes- you'd be able to change the folder titles. I plan on making it automatically name new folders like in iOS4.

Can't release a beta- needs a lot more work yet.

icon hiding without LibHide is great!
have you managed to do it via info.plist editing?
