Use the repo.
The reason installing with deb won't work is it has dependencies, so unless you install the needed packages, it won't install. Cydia/apt does this automatically.

You COULD edit the dpkg database and fake the "firmware" package to 4.2.1, then it will install (warning: untested, unsupported)..

Hi. Can I please ask who modded the Status Bar in Safari to make it Black and Not the White one?
I'm hoping to change that for my themes so some apps can have Blue Status Bar or Black.
Cos Some apps look better with Black Status Bar than Blue, but Blue is a Modded version of White.

Also, 100% Thumbs Up for Redd00r! Improved my Phone a LOT

I simply edited the info plist for the safari app to have a black status bar style instead of white

Considering that Xcode 4.5 (in beta) will not support armv6 devices (ipod touch 2g, iphone 3g and older) AT ALL, meaning that all new and updated apps built after ios6 comes out will NOT be able to support our devices....this might be a good idea..

yes? so i cant build more apps for my iPhone 2G? only for my the new iPad?

not do update to Xcode 4.5?

I would stay on 4.4

Currently no, however full support will be added in the next update, in the meantime it is possible to "hack" it onto 4.1, (untested and unsupported)

The redd00r base firmware for iphone 3g is technically ios4.1, it is the only way to get redd00r on 4.1 currently....

Obviously not, we cannot access apple's servers, and hacking into them would probably be illegal. This is just a way to get free texting in the message app via google voice

(off topic) finkmac did you notice any game boost in performance on whited00r cuz on my ipod on red00r and bl4ck0ut 4.2.1 firmware game performance suck but on whited00r games run like their on ios 5

Again, whited00r will always be faster since ios3 is way faster than ios4
