Same. v4.2 isn't significantly faster for me. I can definitely tell a difference between v4.2, 4.1, 4.0.1 BETA, and 4.0.

4.1 Was probably either the fastest, or second fastest for multitasking speed SIMPLY because it had no transition when it switched apps.

But for general navigation and gaming v4.2 (FULL) has been by far the fastest. =)

The only buggy or beta product in Whited00r right now is the folders

This is very true. The whited00r team just does too well with their work! LOL.

Anywho yeah.... I'd say just re-install folders or just fast respring (via multitasking) and they should be back in their folders. =)

You could. But whited00r is much better. Trust me... just re-install folders (By the way... restoring firmware is a LAST RESORT. Never restore before you know there is no possible way to fix something.)


Everything is still in a somewhat... BETA stage in a sense... well in the sense that everything still has bugs. I believe anything is still in a BETA when it has semi-major or major bugs (like folders). Multitasking seems like it COULD be a full stable release because I have had no known bugs with it. But folders is a bit iffy at times.  :mrgreen:

I just installed 4.2 and after a couple of reboots noticed some problems. On reboot anything I had put in folders came out of there folders and back to springboard. Only things I have installed after the new install of 4.2 is SBSettings, ifile, and Mobile Terminal.

That happens occasionally. Just use multitasking to respring and if they don't go back into the appropriate folders... put them back and respring if you want (to test to see if they stay in).

If they keep getting out of the folders, re-install iOS 3 Folders (1.0.4-2) via the .deb file, or Cydia.

OR if that doesn't work... RESTORE << The magic word!

Whats the difference between iOS 4 Based and iOS 3 Based? Are those modded iOS 4 firmwares?

whited00r is modded 3.1.3 (iOS 3) firmwares.

But it looks like Matt is coming out with iOS 4 based whited00r firmwares. So basically the iOS 4 based firmwares will be modded iOS 4.

I downloaded and installed iPhone 2G 4.2 (w/o MMS) unlocked FULL.

Works perfectly, the ONLY thing is, it crashed once while putting an app in a folder. But hasn't since. Its going pretty fast by itself, after I installed FakeClockUp it is BLAZING fast. Lol I did install activator (for SBSettings and quick wifi toggle and fast safemode toggle).

Seems like everything is working fine. Just was hesitant on upgrading to 4.2 WITHOUT MMS until the 4.2 full with MMS gets released.....

I just installed 4.2 (without MMS) full on my iPhone 2G.

Seems VERY fast so far. Very smooth and clean.

Rebooting now to get folders and multitasking working. =)

are Fodlers and MT not working "out of the box" (after the installation without rebooting?)?
Anyway yes.. v4.2 should be fast.
It seems that the bigger problem for our "old" devices is HomeScreen wallpaper. Without it and with v4.2 the device runs really well.

Not for me. Folders and Multitasking did not work out of box (Without rebooting). But fortunately after only ONE reboot they work perfectly. =)

FYI: As of 02-13-11 the repo is working perfectly!! (Good Job BTW). But now it FINALLY doesn't tell me to update. Haha.

I saw the new WDQuitter. I was thinking on getting it... but whenever I end the mail-app (1. it comes back on 2. it shows all my emails in my inbox as unread which is really annoying). Plus you can just end safari when you exit. If you don't clearn history, cookies and cache it goes back to the last page you were at. =)

Well multitasking installs well but when I try to install the folders update the loading bar its finishing and then my ipod touch 1g resprings automatic and when I unlock my ipod its say IOS3 Darlo if you are having problems go to com.darlo770.folders and see is have 777 permisions or something like that. Well thats all,it might help you or maybe its my ipod dont know y have whited00r version 4.1

That is just a help message to let you know IF your folders are experiencing problems. Set the permissions to 777.

You folders SHOULD be working fine. =)

Yeah they install fine. But its irritating sometimes cause like a few people have said it keeps telling me there is an update for them even though I'm running on the latest version.

But they work fine.

I prefer to actually install them from a .deb. Its really easy and most of the time faster than doing it via Cydia. You should have Darlo fix the defaults to raise dock icon labels and make icon lables white. Most people hate it when their gray and lowered. But I guess its an easy fix so not a big deal.

P.S. Advice: i prefer to keep activator for wifi on hold statusbar. double tap is problematic, since from time to time, i have disabled wifi unintentionally.

Especially since double tap often times takes you to the top of the page... hold doesn't do that as much. Especially now that hold is not used to activate rotation lock. Darlo gave it to us! =)

Is there a easy way to get back whited00r 4.1FW multi-tasking? I LOVE Darlo's multi-tasking. But it is making my phone extremely sluggish at times. I will wait until full version comes out. Or until bugs are fixed. The only solution i've found for making it not sluggish/incredibly laggy is to hard reset. Update- Or respring. Is this caused by multi-tasking? Or something else I have? The only things i've added that I didn't have before (before it was lagging) was iBlueNova and mobile terminal (even though I've had mobile terminal and it hasn't been causing this.

To really help me debug Folders (or Multitasking if you do get a crash) install 'syslog' from Cydia. Respring. Now, when you get crashes and it goes into safe-mode, if you're sure it's Folders/Multitasking related, send me var/log/syslog. And i'll see what went wrong.

So just anytime something crashes related to your section of whited00r (folders and multitasking) go ahead and just give you the reports? Sounds good, happy to help. Especially since your doing this all free (with donations of course).
