Bug Reports - Archive / Re: Configurator won't remove Spotlight

I had a tweak that fused music and videos into one app called iPod, and I kept it on the dock. But I usually just held the home button to play/pause music, cause I had Activator. As for deleting, I probably won't, but I'll look at nospot.

Well, I like to organize everything, and before when I had categoriesSB I had a culmination of eight icons on my home screen and six on my dock, and I knew where everything was and required maybe two taps to reach it, so I had no need for it. I never use it.

Did I say it didn't? I'm positive it does, cause it's set by default to slide down when you swipe left or right on the status bar. I'll go try installing CategoriesSB, but I gotta go find the repo first... ;D

Bug Reports - Archive / Configurator won't remove Spotlight
« on: July 19, 2011, 01:24:28 AM »
I have an iPod Touch 1G, and Configurator won't remove Spotlight. I reply 'n' to 'Do you use Spotlight search?' and it does nothing afterwards. Also, it always finds Czech as an installed language. First time I removed all but English, Japanese, Greek, and Spanish (and two unknown ones). Second time I ran it to attempt to remove Spotlight, and it found Czech again. I removed it, along with the two unknown ones (they started with zm_, I think), and it did a full reboot as soon as I said delete to the last unknown language. But Spotlight still wasn't gone. So I ran it one more time, tried to remove Spotlight and Czech, and it did nothing (said there were either no languages found or none were selected). But, the two unknown ones were gone. So... I dunno. I hate Spotlight, I've actually been looking for something to remove it for a while now.

I did attempt to, however, iTunes never got past the "estimating remaining time" step, and it was after midnight and Dad was grumping at me, so I forced iTunes closed and unplugged my iPod. Nothing had been restored that I've found.

EDIT: I guess respringing (or, in all likelihood, a crash) fixed it. I thought I tried that already, though. Huh.

CategoriesSB crashes into safe mode? D8 I love nested, infinite folders... As for Activator slowing the device down, I figured it would, but you kinda need it for SBSettings and I had it set to go to next back on a short hold of the sleep button and pause/play on short hold home. This is kinda important to me, cause I had a nano for a while and I could skip and pause in my pocket. I also had double-tap status bar set to toggle wifi... =p Although, CategoriesSB crashing is a pain. Do you know what it's conflicting with? Cause if it's conflicting with OS3 folders I'll gladly uninstall them. XD

Alrighty. The music controls are actually really handy, cause I has music set to double-tap home before anyway. =p

So, I was looking around the forum and saw very scary posts saying things such as Activator and SBSettings tend not to work with whited00r. I adore those two apps, among other things, so are they safe to install or is there a special way it has to be done? Also, are there any other Cydia apps I should avoid? I used Categories and CategoriesSB, SBSettings, Activator... Uhhh... I had GridLock and multifl0w but I don't think I need them anymore... Bleh. I wish I woulda made a list. I had probably 15 installed. There was a tweak to use a bit of the HDD as RAM. Anyway, like I said, what's safe, what isn't, and is there a way around what isn't?

Second question: I only use one theme, but I am enamored with it. I read that Winterboard takes up a good amount of RAM on old devices; could I SSH into my iPod and just replace the files in (making sure to backup the old files) and leave Winterboard alone?

Third question (and most important): What kinds of errors can I experience if I attempt to restore from backup? I had a good number of apps I spent quite a bit of time on, and I want to get the data back. I have the backup, is it possible to inject the part(s) with the apps' data into the iPod via SSH? That's the only part I really care about. If there isn't, I'm just going to try a restore from backup and see what happens. A buddy of mine said he did it and didn't have any issues.

Fourth question: I saw a full install for whited00r on the repo when I was browsing it last night. Will this install onto a normal, jailbroken 3.1.3? Will it work well? Is it outdated? If that will install onto 3.1.3 fine without a restore, and I can't get the app data back from that back I made, I'm going to try restoring to 3.1.3 and jailbreaking, restoring from backup, and then installing that.

Fifth question (and last ;D): Will the things on the repo operate on a non-whited00r install? For example, can I install the multitasking thingy I saw on there onto a non-whited00r 3.1.3 and have it work?

So, ever since getting whited00r, I've been wondering... Is the built in multitasking faster than using multifl0w? Multifl0w is what I used before, and because I used it so often I had it set to the home button, but this removed any panic quit, so when I lagged I had to wait it out (my intention was to download the close button SBSettings toggle for people with broken home buttons and set that to Activator also, so that I could have a panic quit, but the deb was broken and I never got around to finding a new one). I do want a form of multitasking, even on my old iPod, but I don't know which one's faster. Any ideas?

Whited00r Development - New Apps & Features / Folder icons incorrect
« on: July 18, 2011, 10:49:41 PM »
Okay. So, I just installed whited00r on my 3.1.3 first gen, and I was playing with the folders. I put everything I never use in a folder (clock, stocks, maps, calendar, iTunes, contacts, and weather) and named it "Go plz kthxbai". It proceeded to crash into Safe Mode. I restarted and it worked fine, although the 'i' was cut off. Oh well, whatever. I then removed everything from it later and put them back in in a different order. The folder has the icons in the incorrect order now, in fact, they are the exact same as the first folder. However, when you tap the folder and it opens, the icons shift to the proper order, and upon closing go back to the wrong order. Is this an known glitch, and if so, is there any way to fix it?

EDIT: Perchance this is supposed to be in Bug Reports... I just didn't notice that board. ^^;
