Redsn0w does not delete anything

its fine, now we just need people to submit some cool logos

Its finally here!!! The program is WDlogomii and is on the repo.

1.  Dowload the logos you want off of cydia FIRST
2.  install WDlogomii.
3.  go into terminal
4.  type login root (default password is alpine)
5.  run dfb -as (logo name) to set it.
6.  Reboot to see your new logo. Have fun!!

P.S. if the logo filename has spaces (you can check if this is the case in ifile in /Library/BootLogos/), go into terminal and type

cd /Library/BootLogos (its case sensitive)

then type

mv (logo name) (LogoNameWithoutSpaces)

then you can use normally

if anyone would like to create or submit a boot animation, simply create a folder with the name of your logo (no spaces please). and create a frame-by-frame with .png pictures of the correct dimensions. name your first frame 00.png then next 01.png then 02.png and so on up until 09.png, then at 10.png you can stop adding 0 at the beginning and continue. test it yourself first, and if you would like to submit it email it to philcamlin for packaging and uploading.

if we get all the debs necessary for full in a zip, all the debs for lite in another zip, and all debs separate in another zip, i can get matt to submit to iH8sn0w and get us a whited00r ipsw builder tool that can compile automatic full, automatic lite, or chose your own features.

I use iphone folders, nice and simple extender of windows explorer

very true gawer, on the mb model the most likely outcome if you fail is simply itunes saying "you are not elligible for the requested build" this is the worst case scenario, and even then nothing bad happens to your device, it just stops you from installing whited00r

my final method that never fails.

download sn0wbreeze 2.0.2

download stock 3.1.3 firmware for your device

open sn0wbreeze amd select simple mode

load the stock firmware

build ipsw

when the ipsw is built select not jailbroken and follow instructions, then when the waiting for custom firmware logo pops up shift restore to your whited00r ipsw in itunes and discard the sn0wbreeze one

Thanks for the extra guides people! If thats all the methods can i lock the thread to avoid confusion with large ammounts of comments?

How To's - Archive / How to manually install .deb files onto your device
« on: February 23, 2011, 03:58:18 AM »
ok so you will need an iphone filesystem access program,of which there are an untold many, but today im gonna go with...

1.  iphone folders. download it somewhere with google.

2. connect your device to your computer and open iphone folders and select your device

3.  navigate to private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall.
note:if the last 2 folders do not exist create them(they are case sensitive).

4. drop the desired .deb files into the AutoInstall folder

5.  reboot device to install your package.

6.  you have now installed your package, congrats.

if its mb you may be able to bypass shsh blobs when using whited00r, try it and see

Ok backing up will not save cydia apps, you must use aptbackup or pkgbackup from cydia for that, also when you restore to whited00r you DO NOT restore from backup, you set up as new device and sync things back on afterwards.

Also whited00r IS NOT iOS 4, it is a mod of 3.1.3 with most of the same features. For this reason it will not run ios 4 apps, also it is easy to go back to stock apple firmware afterwards if you so desire, though we hope you will stay with us here at whited00r
