Title: .deb whited00r
Post by: Bruan on March 09, 2011, 06:32:48 PM
I have a partially working whited00r .deb.   It puts everything where it is supposed to go, but the only substrate that actually works is backgrounder.  It even replaces the images, changes the settings, etc.   I have a second idea on how to fix it, but this is for anyone who is interested in helping.

I would like to know why the only substrate that works is backgrounder?...   All the dylibs and such are in place.

Can anyone thing what else I am missing as well?  I have simple background, new folders, new multitasking, my preference files, the simple background stuff with the preference files for it, backgrounder (the one in the full version, older), cycorder, and some images.

Thats what I was wondering.  I am looking in all the control files and such.  Most of the dependencies are already there on a redsn0w jailbreak.

<Wed Mar 09, 2011 4:18 pm> [hr:1bk9f3p4][/hr:1bk9f3p4]

Hmmmm...   It's still not working :/
I am going to make a .deb that puts a bunch of seperate debs in the autoinstall folder.  Then just reboot twice :D
now to just put each feature into a .deb...

if we get all the debs necessary for full in a zip, all the debs for lite in another zip, and all debs separate in another zip, i can get matt to submit to iH8sn0w and get us a whited00r ipsw builder tool that can compile automatic full, automatic lite, or chose your own features.

I actually had this idea as a way of easy upgrades, and possibly a way for a make-your-own lite version.

I shall get to work on this sometime this week I hope

you know what would be both cool and impossibile?!
to have a preinstalled app with a list of toggles (install/purge) for every deb... ;)
Title: Re: .deb whited00r
Post by: Bruan on March 14, 2011, 12:30:30 AM
Oh, that would be handy!   I could probaly make a terminal script easy enough that just copies a set of file into place, so it wont conflict with anything.   That actually might be a good way to do it....   That way you can choose to install only certain aspects, and I only need to copy the files to the right place.  (except folders, of course.)

But I think I will finish this project first :P

Or are you meaning to like extract the .debs?

If you give me  the debs i can do it. then you have all the time to do that script

Ahhh, but all I have is one big .deb, I have to build the little ones.   It seems if everything installs at once, it breaks, but I can do the little .debs.

<Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:57 pm> [hr:3nguh0hf][/hr:3nguh0hf]

Restoring right now.  I'll see how this turns out!

It will *hopefully* work, and include folder, multitasking, custom preferences, backgrounder, Desktop/SMS Background (lighter than simple wallpaper), ios4 images (dock icons), and cycorder (un-fotunatly, my custom icon didn't work for it.).

I'll post back in a few minuets with the result.

<Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:05 pm> [hr:3nguh0hf][/hr:3nguh0hf]

Oh, and also delete launch daemons.  :D

<Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:21 pm> [hr:3nguh0hf][/hr:3nguh0hf]

Blah.  I doesn't work :(

It might just be the mass-install of .debs, or idk.  It just doesn't work right :(

Gonna try them seperatly...

<Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:35 pm> [hr:3nguh0hf][/hr:3nguh0hf]

Ok, it was just the folders and multitasking that don't play nice.    Other than that, its fine.  Sooooo....  I changed it around, and now you run from terminal as root (assuming you put the .deb in /var/mobile) It should work in theory, as backgrounder and the wallpaper works.:
dpkg -i whited00rfull.deb
dpkg -i multitasking.deb
dpkg -i folders.deb
reboot

And you should be good to go.  You might need to respring after that, I don't know.

I'm going to restore one last time to test it out.  If the folders and multitasking .debs don't work, just install from the repo (you need to add it...)

Ok, turns out the debs I have for folders and multitasking are bad.   That's why they never worked right in the .debs I made :S

Some of the images aren't loading right either, so I will try and re-make this tomorow with working folders as well as a battery percentage.

Alright, I did it!  :D
It should work fine, battery percentage and such as well.

I only have it in English, sorry :(

It has newest folders, multitasking, wallpaper (all made by Darlo :D ), and custom plists.  LaunchDaemons need to be manually removed for now...

I'm wondering if I missed out on a plist for the general...   Let me check...  I'll rebuild the .deb if I did.

<Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:07 am> [hr:vghi2flt][/hr:vghi2flt]

Yeah, I did

Let me redo some of the plists.   Some unnessicary options as well, b/c of the new wallpaper stuff.

Ok, I am pretty sure this fixes everything!

Danny, that would be most helpful! And bcooper I kinda beat you to it. I restored and jailbroke ios 3.1.3 and then did some native hacks (dock and battery percentage) added wd repo installed wdwallpapers and folders. Sorry to say but iPhone feels faster than it was with WD...

ok so i made another script that runs SBSetting free mem (included if you don't like SBSetting(ONLY THE FREE MEMORY)) when you run low on free memory.

Yes, you can, but you need to manually remove the files first, like multitasking and folders from cydia, and remove simplebackground.
