Hey JrPac thanks for the kind words :) appreciate that.

As for the bugs, those are known bugs and some of them are already fixed. But unfortunately we won't be releasing any updates until this fall.
The reason for this is a lack of free time.
This tweak may seem or look simple but it'sa really really huge and complicated one :)

Anyways stay tuned, we have successfully implemented the iOS 7 icon animations  (fast'n'smooth) so that being said the next beta version may have the native iOS 7 look.

No promises though.

it cause homescreen animations to bug out on 7.1

Ye this wasn't meant to work with WD. We did some things to make it work with the wallpaper tweak tho. Anyway Try to disable those animations from WD settings

Yep stack blur is fast I forgot about it.. did you try it and still get the 2 sec render time? That's strange..

Ok try something like this

Code: [Select]

- (act)BlurMe {
    CALayer *layer = [self.blurView layer];
    blur = !blur;
    if (blur) {
        [layer setRasterizationScale:0.3];
        [layer setShouldRasterize:YES];
    } else {
        [layer setRasterizationScale:1.0];
        [layer setShouldRasterize:NO];
    }
}

It will update the blur constantly but you won't have to capture each frame so... It's enough to capture it only once each time you swipe up.  I'm not sure but it's worth trying anyway.

Here are some blur libs from Github

real time blurring library that live blurs any view below it: https://github.com/alexdrone/ios-realtimeblur
another one that does the same realtime blur: https://github.com/nicklockwood/FXBlurView
IDK: https://github.com/ivoleko/ILTranslucentView

P.S. you guys also forgot to add another UIview above the CC..  fading one which darkens the rest of the screen when you swipe up.

----EDIT-

and one more thing... in order to get rid of articats and interpolations  just shrink the image down small, draw it into a bitmap context, then let the UIImageView aspect fill it automatically, using layer.magnificationFiltedown   property kCAFilterNearest.

I was just going by the documentation of the CAAnimation layers not rendering in images for how one would normally snapshot a view into an image off-screen :P  The blur doesn't look quite right for it, but it is much quicker to make :3

Hint: "snapshoting" is super fast you can do it whenever you want ^_^

Question: You guys are using CA or CI filter? <- never mind I forgot about the 3.1.3 part :/

Try to rasterize the CALayer so you wont need to capture current UIview and also play around with setRasterizationScale

So basically it's just a screenshot you cropped and blurred? :o

Can't draw what core animation creates blur wise into an image to use as the background because you can't write animation layers to images...

You can, dig it up ^_^

Umm mine works on stock 3.1.3

Bump :)

The website is up http://BetterFolders.com/

13
Well I can for sure :) on stock 3.1.3 ))

14
What?

15
Ah, interesting. Any clue why?

No idea but I have this feeling that Saurik is promoting it coz most of the new so called CC tweaks for iOS 7 that appear in the top list of Cydia(Big Boss) have the FS dependency.
