I had posted these in another section, not knowing I needed to post them here. So, here's my experience so far:
"I'm a newby to this forum and had the Whited00r 5.1 version installed on my iphone 3g. Then, I wanted to upgrade to the redd00r and started by trying to install the prejailbroken 4.1 ipsw, as instructed on the website....BUT, when I went to manually load it in iTunes using the Shift+Restore button, it stopped in the process and I received an error code: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1604)."
I then went online and found a site "
http://www.saurik.com/id/12" that instructed me to go into DFU mode and try restoring again, in which I did, but then I got the exact code, but with the number (1600) this time.
I was stuck guys and I'm trying, but can't seem to get my phone out of recovery mode at this point.
So, I followed the instructions from
http://www.whited00r.com/forum/index.php?topic=5532.0 and have installed the prejailbroken 4.1. But, it is in a state, which looks like recovery...but it's prompting me in different languages to "slide for emergency".
iTunes is also telling me that there isn't a SIM card installed."
I was stuck at this state for a while and I took it in to a developer friend here locally and he said some of the files were corrupt and fixed them...then vualla, the SIM card read from T-Mobile....BUT, the phone is lagging and slow.
Is anybody experiencing this?
