Video Recording
« on: March 06, 2011, 11:38:00 PM »
I don't think Cycorder is getting an update. Does anyone know if it might? It would be nice for Cycorder to have an export option to the camera roll so videos taken with Cycorder can be shared via MMS, email and YouTube.  In my opinion there are video recorders on the appstore that I would use instead of Cycorder not just becuase of the export, sharing and editing options but because of the comparable quality.  I'm curious what all the other Whited00r users think about Cycorder and I'll try emailing Saurik about a possible update. Maybe if we all ask him he'll want to try to make an update to it out of the kindness of his heart.

Cycorder actually has the best framerate for any app (I think...)
So an update would be nice.  There is a mobile substrate add-on that we had that exported it to the camera roll.

Cycorder? You already mentioned it.  It's the video recording app whited00r uses.  Just with a different icon.

video mover I think. If not, try it without the space. It will move them there but I haven't gotten mms to recognize them. Haven't tried anything else. I think I read on here that the included commcenter is already patched which won't allow it.

Actually, by what it is I meant the ability to transfer the videos to the camera roll from Cycorder already included with the fimware. I'll try video mover and the commcenter is not patched in the latest firmware. I can tell you what package to use to patch it.

i too would like to transfer videos made w/cycorder, I just put whited00r on my iphone 3g, and really like the improvements to camera :!: , and addition of video, however I cannot find a way to do anything with the videos :? . I even tried "iphone explorer" but I can't find anything, invisible or it cannot access. I thought about downloading SSH and/or Netatalk, but I don't want to add anything that will slow my phone down, as I just downgraded from ios 4.2.1 to gain speed, I'd be ok with a Mac app to transfer files over, but no budget right now to buy anything...anyone have any suggestions?

Try iFunbox.  You'll see the name of the video in Cycorder on your phone and when you open iFunbox and hookup your computer search your phone for the video and download that to your computer.

I wasn't able to find the videos w/iPhoneExplorerr, but, in watching a video on how to get to the files with another option, I found them w/iPhoneExplorer! and I didn't need to install anything else.

Root>private>var>mobile>Media>videos ...and there they are, just drag & drop and they are copied to your computer. Workaround. :)

icamcorder from the app store provides the same frame rate as cycorder (15 fps) and has the option of exporting to camera roll, although it has a price tag of $1.99.  A free version is available but only allows you to record for 15 seconds.

repo.modyouri.com has a package for 2g/3g video MMS that allows you to then send the video that you exported to the camera roll via MMS, email, or post to YouTube. This is functionality that is not native to the iPhone 2g/3g.

Maybe matt can add this package in the next fw
