« on: December 05, 2014, 03:47:50 AM »
Have you ever lost/totaled an apple product that you owned, and how did this happen?
I currently have an ipod 2g (my first apple device) that has a non working backlight, no sound, horrible battery life, and more scratches then their are keys on a keyboard. but it works!  :D
You see this dog? Yeah, she's my cute dog. (☞゚∀゚)☞

Burned through wifi chips on a couple devices :P  development takes it's toll. The iPhone 3G is still surviving, but I have to manually reconnect wifi pretty often, sometimes every 5-10 minutes.   The iPhone 2G just gives up and never even sees wifi networks now :(  (well, sometimes sees them, but always says the password is incorrect after a couple seconds)

I'll recommend buying a new wifi chip and installing that on the device, you do have to take everything out of the 3G but i haven't worked in a 2G before and for @jsus ill buy a new speaker as both parts i just listed are generally under $10 each

I JUST HAD THAT PROBLEM!! I replaced the headphone jack which is hard to get to but it siled the problem, keep in mind the vibration switch and the other buttons are on the same cable.

Only issue I had was with iOS 3 when my device wouldn't wake from sleep. And then with my iPad 2 the home button stopped working in a week of purchase... Got a replacement thought...

My iPhone 3G is just fine. Only the buttons have became a little problematic, I have to press them with force in order to use them. The ringer button broke 2 years ago and my phone is always on ringer now, on silent it keeps on popping up that silent bell but the phone is perfectly silent. The vibrator died 4 years ago when it fell off from a table. Some small scuffs on the back and 3 very small scratches on the screen. Getting a new phone though, it was just a 'test phone' for me and I passed the test :) it was given to me 1 year ago in order to check whether I am capable to have my own phone or not.
