Overheating and changing light levels...
« on: May 05, 2011, 07:52:44 PM »
Hay guys, this would be my first troubleshooting, and im still not sure if it's connected with WD in any way :P
But if someone can, please help.

Anyways, i got this 2g for a friend, excellent condition, box and everything...
so i haven't used the phone much before wd, but from what i used it, i haven't noticed theese problems.
So i came home, installed WD full, and noticed the first problem, once iphone was connected to itunes, apple restoring logo was already up (one with the progress bar for installation) and the screen started changing brightness levels, at first it looked random, but than i realized it is in the rhythm. Once the sync was completed, and the iphone still attached, the light levels were steady once again. I did some testing, and found out that light changes only when we read/write from the iphone.

So, the problem no. 2 would be overheating playing some games, king of opera, tinywings, angry birds and such, and while charging (apple charger) it gets far too overheated than whould be expected from a normal 2g...

Also, the speaker (the ear speaker) is very very weak even at highest setting.
are these hardware or software problems? And any ideas on getting them fixed?

Well I used to have a "flickering" problem when I had my old Apple Charger.

It turned out it was the wall charger. I just got a new one and the flickering stopped.

Is it flickering? OR is your brightness changing in drastic amounts from low to high?

The other... IS it overheating when you play games? OR is it not? The iPhone will warn you if it gets too hot. There is an infamous "CAUTION" Screen that comes on if the iPhone gets too hot that it will run the risk of damaging your iPhone..

Must be a hardware. No one else has had "Volume" Problems with the WD Firmware?

Ehhh... you have iPhone 2G?

It just depends on the phone itself. Sometimes my iPhone will be "WARM" when charging. Other times... not so much.

I think its hardware.

I mean... if you think about it. These poor phones are either (iPhone 2G) 4 years old and (iPhone 3G) 3 years old.
