WDSpeedup ENGLISH VERSION
« on: May 24, 2011, 03:44:23 AM »
After starting to learn shell script I have taken the liberty to take WDSpeedup and translate it into English!! Proper credit went to myself and Whited00r since that is who I represent. :D

Download the English version HERE

You MAY need to set Permissions to "0755".

Change Octal to "0755" in WinSCP or other SSH Client.

OR

Change permission manually in terminal by running these commands:

Login as root "su" and "alpine"

"chmod +x WDSpeedup.sh"

"./WDSpeedup.sh"

Let me know if you have any errors or I missed some translation!

(WDSpeedup is compatible with the iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4).

Most likely compatible with iPod Touch 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G. (Not 100% sure)

Pretty much in a short summary... It deletes daemons (But MattewRE already deleted them, so It doesn't really do much), It deletes language packs (If you haven't already) and it moves and deletes unnecessary files (They ARE unnecessary, don't worry). It also deletes things from the springboard that don't even get used.

Trust me it speeds up your device ALOT.

To use it....

Put the package (WDSpeedup.sh in var/mobile)

Give "0755 Permissions

OR

DO it manually by running the commands:

Login as root "su" and "alpine"

"chmod +x WDSpeedup.sh" (Case sensitive)

Then to start it run the command: "./WDSpeedup.sh"

From there it will give you directions.

You must be doing something wrong. Its working fine for me.

Its case sensitive, so make sure you capitalize everything that I said to.

Also make sure its in "var/mobile"

and

"0755" Permissions. ;)

To run... "./WDSpeedup.sh"

Not sure what to tell you guys. I downloaded it from the link I gave you guys and it's working fine. Let's see....

Step 1. Put WDSpeedup.sh in "var/mobile"

Step 2. Give 755 permissions

Or

"chmod +x WDSpeedup.sh"

Start the script by loging in as root "su" and "alpine"

Then type "./WDSpeedup.sh"

works fine for me..

Or just use the one that is there and hit O for every option... O = Oui which means yes.

If it works ill host it.

Good work so far :)

The error some people are getting is what I told you about.   You are editing on windows, and that doesn't format right.    It is giving it stuff like ^M and such instead of other things.

But that doesn't make sense when its working fine for me. =/

Maybe I'll edit it with VIM.
