It would be extremely handy if you were to also post the original product build number for 3.1.3 for those who need to go back and didn't make a backup.
7E18 or 7C148 I cant remember

Ah... I figured out why I was crashing after switching the firmware to 4.3.3. The versions of CatergoriesSB and AndroidLock I had aren't compatible with that iOS.

i just switched to 3 diff computers it says : Itunes could not back up the iPhone "(iPhone Name)" because the backup session failed.
no error code

I was just looking at this whilst I was trying to get iTunes to restore from a jailbroken backup. Try changing your time zone in your computer's settings... I couldn't tell you how without knowing your operating system. That's what fixed it back on iTunes 9.2.

Ok ill try that. but i noticed an increase in heat a few min after i changed the plist. anyways ill try out your tip.

Yeah, I couldn't fathom why your iPhone would overheat from this. Mine overheats sometimes, but it's cause I didn't sauter my wires exactly right...

You need to put as a warning that if you have any Cydia apps on addons that are incompatible with the version you change to (i.e. going from 3.1.3 to 4.x with AndroidLock installed) you WILL crash into Safe Mode and if you open Cydia it will always try to remove packages incompatible with the version you switch to. It'll also try to install statuslibar (or something like that) if going to 4.x, which I believe is safe for a 3.1.3 device. I actually haven't found a way to stop it from crashing into Safe Mode yet.

Hi,
At first sorry about my English, Thank you for the how to but i have some questions.
I have an ipod touch 1G.
I change the information about firmware file and i can install eQu and FLAC player app, but when i reboot the system ipod say "Safe mode" and i had to change again the information about firmware to work properly.
Although the apps does not work finally, i guess it is not possible.

Do you know about other app to equalize ipod??

Thank you
