Coding a lighter MobileNotifier
« on: July 07, 2011, 03:50:52 PM »
MobileNotifier is opensource, so could someone clean the code up (no qickreply...) and make it look more like iOS5's Notificationcenter?
I could help you with the graphical things, but I'm not good in coding.
It would be nice to have a lighter, faster, cleaner and more ios5 like version of MobileNotifier on WD.
Maybe we could create something like WD 5.0 or something ;)

Sounds great, I don't have any idea in how to do that. But I repeat myself: Sounds Great!
For my ally is Backgrounder, and a powerful ally it is.

Here is the github page of the project.
https://github.com/peterhajas/MobileNotifier

I think it's easy to understand, if you have some C knowledge...

My problem with the original version of MobileNotifier are:
- the MobileNotifier.dylib has 100kb . if we delete something from the code we don't need, we could make it faster.
For example.
if i touch the SMS-notification, there opens a popup window with quickreply.
But quickreply is verry slow to use on my iPhone 3G (the keyboard laggs...)
And i would like to use it like on ios5, just touching the notification to open e.g. the SMS.app
it would be faster and more like iOS5
- the images which are used count 137kb , because it has the resoluion vor iphone 4's display... (but i think none of us has such a new device.
I changed the resolution and now all the images together have about 57kb and have the typical iPhone 3G (older devices) resolution, but i think we can make it better..
- on lockscreen you have to touch on "Missed Notifications" to see what the Notifications are.
it would be better like in ios5, if the Notifications are listed directly, so you don't have to touch at first so see them. And the "Missed Notifications" thing is wasting space...

It would be nice if someone could help me in this things,
because it's so sad that we can't have the ios5 features on our devices :/

hey guys!
Iīm just learning obj-C, but i only have written useless apps and NO TWEAKS.I donīt know how to use theos or openToolchain (tweaks mostly are compiled with dhowetts theos or with opentoolchain.
If someone could find a toutorial for theos, i could modifie the code.
But donīt think iīm a really good dev, i havenīt coded so much.
Bensge
EDIT:
I looked at the code, donīt seems to be hard to mod it :D
EDIT_2: I will look into theos, i just need time...

It's so Nice to have a dev found for my ideas:) Hope you understood what are my wishes and that you are also interested in these features and what i thought.. Because it's the main aim of whited00r to have a fast system, and I think what I'd like to change is making the program faster.

I editet all the  MobileNotifier ".PNG's" .
They all had the resolution for iPhone4/iPod Touch 4G.
Now the resolution is for older devices (iPhone 3G(s), iPod Touch 1G,2G,3G)
They used 136,4 KB , now they just use 25,7 KB.
It helps a lot to load the tweak faster..
If you want you can download it here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2418240/iPhone/MobileNotifierIcons%401x.zip

Just copy the files of the .zip into /Library/ApplicationSupport/MobileNotifier

3 Questions

Does the lightened version made by michi_z change the looks to make it more ios 5 like?

What notifications does MobileNotifier support?

And is michi_z's version still support ipod touch 4g?
