But now that I have it, where do I actually put it? Do I use FileZilla or is there something else? (I am clueless in regards to the actual innards on an iPhone).
Place it using an iPhone file explorer in /var/mobile and then on your device, open up terminal and type in line by line the following:
su
alpine
cd /var/mobile
dpkg -i sbutils.deb

then you can install from cydia :) if it says you need to update sbutils just ignore it.
Make sure you let regenerate finish installing! Otherwise you will have incomplete theming issues and such :/

A UDID is a unique device identifier. The prompt it gives you is just an alert for a passphrase you will use to encrypt it.

Yes for the winterboardfaker :)

Then do  I need to do anything with the terminal in regards to winterboard faker? Also is there a way to prevent redownloads of winterboard when you  download themes off of cydia? Or is that what the faker is for?

You need to install it the same way you did sbutils, replacing the file name with that of the faker :)

That's what the faker is for :) It makes cydia think it is installed :)

Go to "Options" -> "Update GUI now" , and that should do the trick for you :) (Automatic GUI is turned off by default on older device to avoid crashes of the app due to time out of the process)

I think I might have accidently turned on automated GUI because the app started crashing (and so has my updated sbsettings which is probably a coincidence) how does one turn it off?, and also my theme is not being applied by regenerate :(

Change it in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.bcooperizcool.regenerate.plist (UpdateGUI or similar).

Uhmmm what theme?  (So I can look to see how it is laid out)

ARC'd SD
Downloading now, I will test with both regenerate and the theme engine from archetype (which is basically the same without advanced customization options)

EDIT: okay, of all of those, just by looking at the layout of the themes, only the one that says literally "ARCdSD.theme" would work.

Everything else is not supported by regenerate (And anyway, you can only apply one theme at a time)

Next up I power up my iPhone and test it out :)

Ugh, and now regenerate decides it doesn't like me anymore, by some magic it started actually showing the menus yesterday which the last time it did that was the first few days I downloaded regenerate, and I tried a couple times to theme, but now all I get is the load up regenerate picture and the app exits (crashes?).

EDIT: It likes me again, cool, but it still refuses to theme :(

I have no clue why it isnt theming :(  considering you already rebuilt the databases and such.  At this point I dont know :(  I even tried it out on my own system and it worked fine :(
Of course that doesnt help you :/   The next update will probably only change the GUI frontend to be much better, and not much of the backend code :(
