Thanks but i have not daemon in the same folder! My folder launchdaemon was  empty, so now there is just com.apple.locationd.plist and i can't check a other daemon!

That is not good.  Did you delete the folder first or something? :o  Or are you certain it is the right path, with the correct capitalization and everything?  launchdaemon and LaunchDaemon are different things to the system ;)

But if he doesn't have anything but that launchdaemon on that folder is rather to restore than restoring just the files because the iPhone could have any other problem...

So you do have a LaunchDaemon folder though?  Because if you don't, do not reboot your device or you will have to restore for certain if you do...  It should be /System/Library/LaunchDaemons.  If all is okay, it will have a bunch of files in there. If not, then uh-oh :(

"After that, use iFile from Cydia and navigate to that directory, and tap the blue arrow next to a daemon other than the one you just put in (doesn't matter which one). Take a note of the permissions and ownerships of the file, and then modify the com.apple.locationd.plist to match that of it. (by tapping the blue arrow on it and then changing the permissions/ownerships)"

I did not follow the steps correctly and replaced the com.apple with the old one and thus no longer know what the old options for permission/ownership were.. what do i do?

Doesn't matter which daemon you use to check what the permissions should be ;) Just check them with one other than the one you replaced.

Hi, there!

I've been following this topic for half a year now. I am running an iPhone3G, baseband 05.15.04, factory unlocked, WD6 with gps still not working.
To contribute to this mission I have tried the following steps:

First try:

Clean install 4.2.1 - gps working, after that WD6 installation as described in the "installation wizzard": install 3.1.2, error 1050, exit rec-mode via recboot - gps ALREADY not working, finally WD install - gps not working.

Then I have tried the way of changing the com.apple.locationd.plist as described in the forum - with no positive result.

Second try:
Clean install 4.2.1 - gps working, after that jailbreak with redsn0w - gps still working, finally WD6 install - gps not working.

In my opinion it's a pure baseband 05.15.04 vs. firmware 3.x.x. problem.

As there are already so many different "subjects" in the forum concerning the gps not working, perhaps this is no news for you (and perhaps somebody could clean up a little).

Waiting for WD7 with a "fixed" gps.

Did you use the MotionX GPS test, or just the apple maps?  Because the apple maps will work on 4.2.1, not 3.1.3 though.  Nothing relating to the GPS at all in that matter sadly :(
Because if it is broken on stock 3.1.3/3.1.2, then whited00r can't fix something that is broken on the stock firmware because it isn't open source :(

Even having a lower baseband still doesn't work for most people, but keep in mind the maps location information will never work on 3.1.3 because the servers it uses have been dropped, and only the ones from 4.2.1 work now.  Can't be ported to 3.1.3 either though :(

I used Maps on 4.2.1 and GPS Status 1.2 on 3.1.2 and 3.1.3.

Good news for me: By messing around a little by trying to install openssh and to upgrade Cydia packages my iPhone froze, so I did another jailbreak with blackrain and installed WD6 for the third time and on the spur of the moment I then checked the gps again et voilà: GPS is working... things that make you go hmmm.
